The size of your mantel depends upon your personal style preferences and the finished look you want to achieve. - To measure, begin by determining the desired height and depth of your mantel.
- The length of your mantel will be determined by how much of your fireplace you want shown around the ends of the mantel, as well as the amount of usuable space you would like to have.
- TIP FOR DRYWALL MOUNTING: If your mantel is going to be installed onto drywall that will later have stone or brick installed around it, we recommend increasing the depth of your mantel to accomodate the area that will be obstructed by the stone/brick. Example: If you order a 6" deep mantel and your stone/brick protrudes from the wall by 2", your usable mantel depth will only be 4".
